Put Your Feet in the Air, Like You Just Don't Care

RECLINING DANDASANA

Start with warm ups reclining on back with knees bent and soles of feet on ground.

 

Bring your right knee to the chest and hold in front of shin or behind thigh for knees that need kindness.

Hold for 3-5 breaths.

Extend right foot to ceiling, maybe the leg is straight, maybe knee is bent. Flex foot (toes towards shin).

Extend left leg so heel and thigh rest on ground.  If this strains groin, return to bent left leg position.

Hold back of right thigh if needed.  Hold for 3-5 full yogic breaths.

 

Repeat with left foot extension towards ceiling.

 

Return to both knees bent, soles of feet on ground.

 

Extend both feet towards ceiling, (bent knees if need modification), hold behind thighs if needed, or keep arms alongside as pictured.

Hold for 3-5 full yogic breaths.

 

Return to both knees bent, soles of feet on ground.

Respond with any micro movements or unwinding as needed.
